Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, wash all the vegetables thoroughly and then finely chop them. It’s key to chop the carrots and onions small for a good texture when stir-fried. Slice the Vienna sausages into bite-sized pieces (half-moons or 2-3 segments). In a deep pan or wok, combine the chopped vegetables and Vienna sausages. Add 1 Tbsp of fish sauce and a pinch of pepper, then lightly mix to marinate the ingredients. This pre-seasoning will enhance the flavor.
Step 2
Heat a pan over medium heat and add a generous amount of cooking oil. Add the marinated Vienna sausages and vegetables and stir-fry. Cook for about 3-5 minutes until the vegetables become translucent and the onions release their sweetness. Stir occasionally to prevent burning.
Step 3
Once the vegetables are somewhat cooked, add 1 bowl of warm cooked rice and oyster sauce to your liking. About 1-2 Tbsp of oyster sauce is usually good, but adjust according to your preference. Break up any clumps of rice with a spatula and stir-fry until all ingredients are well combined. Continue to stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until the rice grains are fluffy and all ingredients are glistening.
Step 4
Transfer the well-stirred Vienna sausage fried rice to a nice serving bowl. Adding a fried egg on top or sprinkling some dried seaweed flakes will make it even more delicious.
