How to Make Stir-Fried Vienna Sausages with Oyster Sauce (Quick Vegetable and Sausage Stir-Fry)
I always keep Vienna sausages in small portions in my fridge. When I’m short on side dishes, I quickly stir-fry them with vegetables. They make a perfect accompaniment to rice, which is why I always buy them. (Tablespoon: based on a standard Korean rice spoon)
Ingredients- Vienna sausages 90g
- Red bell pepper 20g
- Onion 24g
- Grapeseed oil 1 Tbsp
- Sesame oil 0.5 Tbsp
- Toasted sesame seeds, for garnish
Seasoning- Oyster sauce 0.2 Tbsp
- Ketchup 0.5 Tbsp
- Oligosaccharide 0.5 Tbsp
- Water 0.5 Tbsp
- Oyster sauce 0.2 Tbsp
- Ketchup 0.5 Tbsp
- Oligosaccharide 0.5 Tbsp
- Water 0.5 Tbsp
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Prepare 90g of Vienna sausages. Make about 3 diagonal cuts on each sausage. Scoring the sausages not only makes them look appealing when cooked but also helps the sauce penetrate better, enhancing the flavor.
Step 2
To remove excess saltiness and impurities, soak the scored sausages in hot water for about 5 to 10 minutes, ensuring they are fully submerged. Afterward, rinse them under running water and drain thoroughly to remove any excess moisture.
Step 3
Prepare a small amount of red bell pepper and onion. Chop them into bite-sized pieces that are easy to eat.
Step 4
In a small bowl, combine 0.2 Tbsp oyster sauce, 0.5 Tbsp ketchup, 0.5 Tbsp oligosaccharide, and 0.5 Tbsp water. Whisk together thoroughly to create a well-mixed sauce for your sausage stir-fry.
Step 5
Heat 1 Tbsp of grapeseed oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the drained Vienna sausages and stir-fry until the diagonal cuts begin to open up. Since they were soaked in hot water, this should happen relatively quickly.
Step 6
Add the chopped bell pepper and onion to the pan. Stir-fry them briefly until they are slightly crisp-tender. Be careful not to overcook them, as you want to retain their fresh crunch.
Step 7
Pour the prepared sauce mixture over the sausages and vegetables in the pan.
Step 8
Stir-fry everything together until the sauce coats the ingredients and a nice glaze forms. Turn off the heat. If you find the dish too salty, you can add about 1 Tbsp of water and stir-fry briefly. If it’s not sweet enough, add a little more oligosaccharide.
Step 9
Drizzle 0.5 Tbsp of sesame oil over the stir-fry and toss gently to combine. This adds a wonderful nutty aroma.
Step 10
Finally, sprinkle some toasted sesame seeds on top. Your simple and delicious stir-fried Vienna sausages with vegetables are now ready to be enjoyed!
