  • 1/4 onion
  • 2 Korean green chili peppers (cheongyang)
  • 1 red chili pepper
  • 10 whole garlic cloves

Sauce Ingredients

  • 8 Tbsp water
  • 2 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp oligosaccharide (or corn syrup)
  • 1 Tbsp cooking wine (mirin or similar)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper powder

Thaw the pre-made frozen beef meatballs by taking them out of the freezer beforehand and letting them defrost slowly in the refrigerator or at room temperature. Once thawed, gently pat the meatballs with a paper towel to remove any excess moisture or blood. This helps them cook evenly.

Prepare the vegetables: Remove the stems from the chili peppers and slice them diagonally into thick pieces. Cut the onion into roughly 1 cm thick slices. Slice the whole garlic cloves thinly. In a small bowl, combine the water, soy sauce, oligosaccharide, cooking wine, sesame oil, sesame seeds, and black pepper powder. Stir well to create the savory sauce mixture. Having the sauce pre-mixed will make the stir-frying process much smoother.
