Vacation Special Menu: Rolled Omelet Rice – Perfect for Breakfast, Kids’ Snacks, and Lunchboxes!
From college students to elementary, middle, and high schoolers, the exciting vacation has begun! This is also the time when mothers’ worries about ‘What to cook?’ deepen. For those tiring days of preparing meals and snacks for kids during the hot summer, we’ve prepared an easy and delicious ‘Rolled Omelet Rice’ recipe. Make a filling meal with simple ingredients!
Ingredients- 2 eggs
- 1 packet of furikake (you can use various types meant for rice)
- A little cooking oil
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
When cooking the rice, it’s even better to use various vegetable powders available commercially, like ‘Chorok Maeul Rice Vegetable Sprinkle.’ Even if your kids are picky eaters, this is a great way to naturally incorporate vegetables into their diet.
Step 2
There are many types of commercial furikake, so choose one according to your preference. Using dried shrimp powder also adds great flavor. If you finely chop any leftover vegetables from your fridge and mix them in, it acts as a nutritious, natural seasoning.
Step 3
This recipe makes one serving. In a bowl, combine 2 eggs and 1 packet of furikake. Whisk thoroughly to create an even egg mixture. Lightly grease a preheated frying pan with oil and pour in the egg mixture. Cook over medium-low heat to ensure it cooks gently. Maintaining medium-low heat is important to prevent burning.
Step 4
When the egg is about 70-80% cooked and the edges are starting to set, carefully flip it using a spatula. This will create a stable surface to place the rice on.
Step 5
Once the egg is fully cooked, turn off the heat and carefully remove it from the pan. Let it cool slightly. While still warm but not hot, use a sharp knife to cut it into desired portions. Placing the cut omelet on kitchen towels will absorb excess oil, allowing you to enjoy it without it feeling greasy.
Step 6
This finished rolled omelet rice is perfect as a filling meal, a snack for kids, or even for picnic lunchboxes. The flavor can be endlessly varied depending on the type of furikake and vegetables you add to the rice. Serving it with your favorite sauce adds another unique taste.
