Enjoy this nutritious and delicious Jambon Burger as a delightful snack or a hearty lunchbox treat!
Burger Components- 2 Hamburger buns
- 4 slices Jambon (or thinly sliced deli ham)
- 6 leaves Lettuce
- 2 fresh Tomatoes, thinly sliced
- 2 slices Cheese
- 2 Tbsp Butter (for toasting buns)
- 1 Tbsp Blueberry Jam (for spreading)
- 2 Tbsp Salsa sauce (with onion)
- 1 tsp Mustard sauce (optional)
- 1 tsp Ketchup
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare your hamburger buns. Lightly butter a pan over medium-low heat and toast both sides of the buns until golden brown. This adds a wonderful toasty flavor and prevents them from getting soggy. Be careful not to burn them!
Step 2
Wash and thoroughly dry the lettuce leaves. Slice the fresh tomatoes thinly. For this recipe, we’re using salsa sauce which already contains onion, so we’re skipping extra onions. (If you enjoy onions, you can finely mince a small amount and add it.)
Step 3
Jambon is a type of French dry-cured ham. If you can’t find it, thinly sliced deli ham is a good substitute. Prepare 4 slices of jambon. If the slices are quite large, you can use just 2 slices per burger to ensure a balanced flavor. If using thinner deli ham, layering 2 slices per burger works well.
Step 4
While the buns are still warm from toasting, spread a generous amount of butter on the cut sides of both the top and bottom halves. This enhances the richness of the burger.
Step 5
Next, spread a layer of sweet blueberry jam on top of the buttered buns. The delightful combination of buttery toast and sweet jam creates a unique flavor profile.
Step 6
Generously pile the crisp lettuce leaves onto the bottom bun. On one side of the lettuce, spread the salsa sauce. Then, add the tomato slices and one slice of cheese on top of the salsa.
Step 7
Arrange 2 slices of jambon on top of the cheese. You can fold the ham slices in half twice to create a fuller, more appealing layer. Drizzle ketchup over the jambon. Feel free to substitute ketchup with your favorite sauce, like mustard, if preferred.
Step 8
Finally, place the top half of the bun onto the assembled ingredients and gently press down. This helps hold everything together. Your delicious Jambon Burger is now ready! Wrap it in burger paper and pack it into a lunchbox for a delightful surprise.
