Transform Leftover Japchae into Delicious Fried Rice: A Simple Recipe
This is a simple recipe to make delicious fried rice using leftover japchae from home. Enjoy a flavorful meal made with a common Korean dish transformed into a quick and satisfying fried rice.
Ingredients- 1 plate of leftover Japchae
- 1 bowl of cooked rice
- 1 Tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 egg
- Vegetable oil, as needed
- A pinch of salt
- A little black pepper
- 0.5 Tbsp sesame oil
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Heat a wide pan over high heat. Add the leftover japchae (about one plateful) and 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce. Stir-fry briefly for about 1-2 minutes until the japchae is slightly loosened. This step enhances the flavors.
Step 2
Now, add 1 bowl of cooked rice to the pan with the stir-fried japchae. Using a spatula or spoon, mix the rice and japchae thoroughly. Continue to stir-fry over high heat for another 2-3 minutes until the rice grains become fluffy and separated. It’s important to break up any clumps of rice as you stir.
Step 3
Turn off the heat immediately. The residual heat from the pan is sufficient. Sprinkle a little black pepper over the fried rice to add aroma, then drizzle with 0.5 tablespoon of sesame oil for a nutty flavor. Stir gently to combine everything. Your Japchae Fried Rice base is now ready.
Step 4
In a separate small pan, heat a little vegetable oil. Crack 1 egg into the pan and cook it sunny-side up or to your desired doneness. Sprinkle a pinch of salt over the fried egg to season it.
Step 5
Plate the well-stir-fried Japchae Fried Rice attractively. Gently place the freshly cooked fried egg on top. For an extra delicious bite, break the yolk and mix it with the rice.
Step 6
Your delicious Japchae Fried Rice, bursting with colorful ingredients and rich flavors, is now complete! Enjoy this special and convenient meal any day.
