Make delicious Korean fried chicken at home with just one pack of stir-fry chicken from the supermarket! Using an air fryer, you can enjoy piping hot homemade chicken that takes about as long as ordering delivery. This recipe offers a budget-friendly and incredibly satisfying homemade Korean fried chicken experience.
Main Ingredients- 1 pack (750g) stir-fry chicken cut

Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, rinse the chicken pieces thoroughly. Fill a pot with enough water to fully submerge the chicken and bring it to a rolling boil over high heat.

Once the water is boiling vigorously, add all the chicken pieces to the pot.

After the water returns to a boil with the chicken in it, remove the chicken from the pot and drain off the water. This step helps to remove impurities and any unwanted odors from the chicken.

Lightly season the drained chicken with a pinch of salt and pepper. This enhances the natural flavor of the chicken.

Place the seasoned chicken in your air fryer basket and cook at 180°C (350°F) for about 20 minutes, or until golden brown. Flipping the chicken halfway through will ensure even cooking.

While the chicken is cooking, let’s make the delicious sauce! In a bowl, combine 1.5 Tbsp gochujang, 1.5 Tbsp ketchup, 1.5 Tbsp hot sauce, 2 Tbsp cheongju, 0.5 Tbsp sugar, 1 Tbsp oligodang, 1 Tbsp maesilcheong, and 1 Tbsp minced garlic. Add the thinly sliced white parts of the green onion. Mix all the ingredients well until you have a smooth sauce.

Pour the prepared sauce into a saucepan and bring it to a gentle simmer over medium heat. Once it simmers, remove it from the heat and let it cool slightly. Simmering the sauce beforehand helps to meld the flavors and creates a deeper taste.

Transfer the golden-brown chicken from the air fryer into the prepared sauce. Toss gently until each piece is evenly coated. Coating the chicken while it’s still warm helps the sauce adhere beautifully.

Return the sauced chicken to the air fryer basket. Cook at 140-160°C (285-320°F) for about 5 more minutes.
