- A small amount of Bean Sprouts
- 20 Blueberries
- 2 Tbsp Perilla Oil (or other cooking oil)
Oriental Dressing Ingredients- 4 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 4 Tbsp Vinegar
- 4 Tbsp Olive Oil
- 1 Tbsp Sugar
- 1/2 Tbsp Minced Garlic
- 1 Tbsp Lemon Juice
- 1/2 Tbsp Toasted Sesame Seeds
- A pinch of Black Pepper (to taste)
- 4 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 4 Tbsp Vinegar
- 4 Tbsp Olive Oil
- 1 Tbsp Sugar
- 1/2 Tbsp Minced Garlic
- 1 Tbsp Lemon Juice
- 1/2 Tbsp Toasted Sesame Seeds
- A pinch of Black Pepper (to taste)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, let’s prepare the fresh vegetables for the salad. Take out any leftover greens from your refrigerator, such as lettuce, bean sprouts, and tomatoes. Wash them thoroughly. Tear or chop the lettuce into bite-sized pieces, and cut the tomatoes into wedges or cubes. You can leave the bean sprouts as they are or trim them slightly. Feel free to use any vegetables you have on hand or prefer, adjusting the quantities as needed.
Step 2
It’s important to remove excess moisture from the tofu. Pat the tofu block dry with paper towels to absorb as much water as possible. Then, cut the tofu into approximately 2-3 cm cubes. This step will help the tofu crisp up nicely when pan-fried.
Step 3
Heat 2 tablespoons of perilla oil (or your preferred cooking oil) in a non-stick pan over medium-low heat. Carefully place the cubed tofu into the pan. Pan-fry the tofu, turning occasionally, until all sides are golden brown and slightly crispy. This creates a wonderful texture contrast within the salad.
Step 4
Now, let’s make the delicious Oriental dressing that ties the salad together. In a small bowl, combine 4 tablespoons of soy sauce, 4 tablespoons of vinegar, and 4 tablespoons of olive oil. Add 1/2 tablespoon of minced garlic, 1 tablespoon of sugar, and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice for brightness. Finally, stir in 1/2 tablespoon of toasted sesame seeds and a pinch of black pepper, if desired. Whisk everything together until well combined to create a flavorful dressing.
Step 5
Arrange the prepared fresh vegetables attractively on a large serving plate or in a salad bowl. Top generously with the warm, pan-fried tofu cubes. Drizzle the freshly made Oriental dressing evenly over the salad. Your beautiful and healthy tofu salad is now ready to be served!
Step 6
Savor the delightful combination of crisp vegetables, savory pan-fried tofu, and the zesty Oriental dressing! This nutritious tofu salad makes for a satisfying and wholesome meal. For an extra touch, consider adding nuts or avocado to your salad.
