Delicious and Crisp Seasoned Spinach Salad
Easy Spinach Salad Recipe: Quick & Healthy Side Dish
Spinach is one of my favorites, so I often make this side dish when I run out. I hear it’s rich in iron and folate, which are effective in preventing anemia and dementia, so I try to eat it more often! ㅎㅎ It’s so simple to make this seasoned spinach salad in a flash and serve it with my meals.
Ingredients- 200g fresh spinach
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- 1 Tbsp anchovy sauce (or soy sauce for soup)
- 1 Tbsp sesame oil
- A pinch of sesame seeds
- 1 tsp salt (for blanching)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the spinach. Trim the roots and wash under running water until no soil remains. For extra thorough cleaning, soak the spinach in water with a little vinegar for 5 minutes, then rinse again.
Step 2
Bring a pot of water to a rolling boil over high heat. Once boiling, add 1 teaspoon of coarse salt, then add the prepared spinach and blanch for exactly 30 seconds. Over-blanching will make it mushy, so timing is key!
Step 3
Immediately drain the blanched spinach and rinse thoroughly under cold running water. This helps maintain its vibrant green color and cools it down quickly, preserving a crisp texture. Squeeze out as much water as possible by hand; this is crucial to prevent the salad from becoming watery.
Step 4
In a bowl, combine the squeezed spinach with 1 teaspoon of minced garlic, 1 tablespoon of anchovy sauce, and 1 tablespoon of sesame oil. Finally, sprinkle with sesame seeds and gently mix with your hands until well combined. Taste and add a little more salt if needed. Enjoy your delicious seasoned spinach!
