Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Let me introduce you to ‘Cucumber Flower Bibim Naengmyeon.’ It’s a recipe that’s as beautiful as it is delicious, and surprisingly easy to make!

Step 1

Step 2

This recipe uses budget-friendly, seasonal ingredients to create a fantastic naengmyeon. A fresh egg costs about 132 won, and a crisp cucumber around 356 won, making this delicious Nest Bibim Naengmyeon variation incredibly economical – all ingredients costing less than 1,000 won!

Step 2

Step 3

Wash the cucumber thoroughly and julienne it as thinly as possible using a mandoline slicer. For the egg, separate the yolk and white. We’ll make a thin omelet with just the yolk to create the ‘egg flower’ garnish. You can use the egg white in another dish.

Step 3

Step 4

Bring 800ml of water to a rolling boil in a pot. Once boiling, add the Nest Naengmyeon noodles and all the seasoning packets (soup base). Adding the seasoning with the water boiling helps the noodles separate easily.

Step 4

Step 5

Once the noodles have separated, reduce the heat to low and continue to boil for 3 more minutes. It’s important to time this accurately to prevent the noodles from becoming too mushy.

Step 5

Step 6

Drain the cooked noodles into a colander and quickly rinse them under cold running water to cool them down. Shake off any excess water until completely dry, then arrange them neatly in a serving bowl. Top the noodles with the Nest Naengmyeon’s seasoned bibim sauce and mix well.

Step 6

Step 7

Now, let’s create the cucumber flower effect. Starting from the edge of the bowl, carefully wrap the julienned cucumber slices around the bibim naengmyeon, creating a beautiful, layered effect that resembles flower petals surrounding the noodles.

Step 7

Step 8

Finally, gently place the golden yolk ‘egg flower’ garnish you prepared in step 2 right in the center of the bibim naengmyeon. Be careful not to disturb its shape as you place it.

Step 8

Step 9

Once you see this beautifully presented Cucumber Flower Bibim Naengmyeon, you might exclaim, ‘It’s too pretty to eat!’ But just as much effort went into making it beautiful, you’ll find it tastes even more delightful!

Step 9

Step 10

Your stunning and delicious ‘Cucumber Flower Bibim Naengmyeon’ is now complete! Enjoy this refreshing, spicy, and slightly sweet noodle dish that will surely awaken your appetite.
