Your go-to side dish when you have no time or no appetite! Introducing a magical, super simple pickled radish salad that’s ready in just 5 minutes. Its crisp texture and sweet and sour flavor are perfect with rice. Try making it right now!
Main Ingredients- 300g pickled radish (Danmuji, if using whole sheets)
- 1 stalk scallion or green onion (primarily the white part)
- 2 Tbsp toasted sesame seeds
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the pickled radish. If you are using whole sheets of danmuji, you can lightly cut them in half with the back of a knife or scissors. This helps the seasoning penetrate better.
Step 2
Slice the prepared pickled radish according to your desired texture. For a satisfying bite, cut them into half-moon shapes about 0.5cm thick. If you prefer a softer texture, you can slice them into thin strips.
Step 3
Finely chop the green onion. Using the white part adds a fragrant aroma. If you find the onion’s pungency too strong, you can soak it in cold water for a bit before using.
Step 4
In a bowl, combine the sliced pickled radish, chopped green onion, and all the seasoning ingredients (1 Tbsp gochugaru, 1 Tbsp sugar, 1/2 Tbsp minced garlic, 1/2 Tbsp sesame oil). Finally, add a generous 2 Tbsp of toasted sesame seeds. Gently mix everything together with your hands until well combined. In just 5 minutes, you’ll have a delicious sweet and sour pickled radish salad! It’s great to eat immediately, or you can chill it in the refrigerator for an even cooler and tastier experience.
