Instead of just sweet chocolate, spend a special Pepero Day with this sweet, salty, and spicy fried pasta that pairs perfectly with a cold beer. It’s simple yet addictively delicious and sure to captivate everyone!
Main Ingredients- Spaghetti 60g (about 1 cup)
- Dried shredded squid (or fish jerky) – a little (adds a crispy texture)
- Beef jerky – a little (a special ingredient for added flavor)
- Cooking oil 3 Tbsp (enough to fry the pasta)
Sweet, Salty, Spicy Seasoning (using tablespoon measurements)- Sugar 1.5 Tbsp (the base of sweetness)
- Salt 0.2-0.3 tsp (to balance the flavor)
- Lamb skewer seasoning 1 Tbsp (for a spicy and exotic flavor)
- Sugar 1.5 Tbsp (the base of sweetness)

Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the ingredients for today’s dish. Measure out 60g of spaghetti, and prepare a small amount of dried shredded squid and beef jerky according to your preference. If you don’t have dried squid or beef jerky, you can omit them, but they add a richer flavor when included. Alternatively, using flat fettuccine noodles can offer a different texture.
Step 2
To prevent the spaghetti from sticking together during cooking, break it into 2-3 pieces by hand. Also, to remove excess oil and maintain crispiness after frying, line a bowl or tray with paper towels to place the fried pasta on.

Cut the prepared beef jerky and dried shredded squid into long strips. Place them on a plate and microwave for about 40 seconds to 1 minute. This brief heating enhances their chewiness and livens up their flavor.

Now, it’s time to fry the pasta. Pour 3 tablespoons of cooking oil into a small, deep pan and heat it over medium heat. Once the pan is sufficiently hot, carefully add the cut spaghetti.

Observe the pasta as it fries. You’ll notice small white bubbles starting to form on the surface. At this stage, use chopsticks to stir the pasta continuously, as if stir-frying, to ensure it fries evenly and doesn’t clump together.

Carefully transfer the fried pasta onto the paper towel-lined tray. To ensure the seasoning adheres well while the pasta is still warm, sprinkle 1.5 tablespoons of sugar evenly over the top.

Next, sprinkle about 0.2-0.3 teaspoons of salt evenly over the pasta. You can adjust the amount of salt to your taste, but be careful not to add too much, or it might become too salty.

Now, add 1 tablespoon of lamb skewer seasoning for a spicy kick. If you don’t have lamb skewer seasoning, those who enjoy a bit of heat can add a pinch of finely ground chili powder for a delicious alternative. Remember, you can adjust the sugar and salt quantities to your preference.
