Ingredients
  • 1 packet of instant ramen noodles (or 1 cup ramen)
  • 1 Tbsp ramen soup powder
  • 1 Tbsp sugar

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Prepare your instant ramen. If using a packet ramen, you’ll just need the noodles. For cup ramen, you can use the noodles and any included seasonings if desired, though we’ll be adding our own.

Step 2

Break the ramen noodles into bite-sized pieces. You can use the back of a knife or carefully crush them with your hands. Tip: To avoid scattering small crumbs, it’s best to break the noodles inside your sink or within a large plastic bag. Aim for pieces that are easy to eat, not too fine.

Step 3

Place the broken ramen noodles into a microwave-safe dish. Microwave in 30-second intervals, checking and stirring in between. Continue this process until the noodles turn a light golden brown color. Be watchful to prevent burning, as ramen can brown quickly. This step helps to make the noodles extra crispy.

Step 4

Once the ramen noodles have a nice golden brown hue, carefully transfer them into a large zip-top bag or another plastic bag. Add the 1 Tbsp of ramen soup powder and 1 Tbsp of sugar. Seal the bag securely. Shake the bag well to ensure the powder and sugar are evenly distributed over the crispy noodles. Your delicious Ramyeonttang is ready to be enjoyed immediately!
