Easy & Delicious Rice Paper Cheese Dumplings
A delightful recipe born from a school project class! These rice paper dumplings are crispy on the outside and lusciously cheesy on the inside. Perfect for a quick snack, a party appetizer, or a fun treat for kids.
Main Ingredients- 1 sheet Rice paper
- 13g Mozzarella cheese (or your favorite melting cheese)
- 1 Blueberry
- Cooking oil (for frying)
Sauce- Chili sauce (for dipping or drizzling)
- Chili sauce (for dipping or drizzling)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Prepare the rice paper. Fill a shallow dish with hot water and submerge the rice paper for about 30 seconds, or until it becomes pliable. Be careful not to oversoak, as it can tear easily.
Step 2
Lay the softened rice paper flat. Place a portion of the mozzarella cheese in the center. Fold the top edge down, then fold in the sides, and finally roll it up tightly like a spring roll or dumpling to create your desired shape. Rolling firmly will prevent it from unraveling during frying.
Step 3
Heat a frying pan over medium heat. Add a generous amount of cooking oil, enough to shallow-fry the dumplings. Ensure the oil is adequately heated before adding the dumplings for optimal crispiness.
Step 4
Gently pat the surface of the prepared rice paper dumplings with a paper towel to remove any excess moisture. This step is crucial to prevent oil splatter and achieve a beautifully crisp exterior.
Step 5
Carefully place the dumplings into the hot oil. Fry over medium-low heat, turning them occasionally, for about 2-3 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy on all sides. Keep an eye on the heat to prevent the cheese from melting out too quickly.
Step 6
Once golden and crispy, remove the dumplings from the pan. Drizzle with sweet and spicy chili sauce or serve it on the side for dipping. Top with a fresh blueberry for a pop of color and flavor. Enjoy your delightful homemade treats!
