Crispy Ramen Pancake: Perfect for Kids’ Snacks & Beer Bites!
Utilize that leftover ramen! Make a delicious snack or beer accompaniment with this super simple Ramen Pancake recipe.
Here’s a ramen pancake recipe that my child absolutely loves. The chewy noodles combined with the savory seasoning create an irresistible dish that both kids and adults will enjoy. It’s incredibly easy to make, perfect for satisfying those cravings anytime.
Ingredients- 1 packet of instant ramen
- 1 handful of green onions (approx. 30g)
- Cooking oil, as needed
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the green onions that will add flavor to your ramen pancake. Wash about a handful (approximately 30g) of green onions and finely chop them. Using plenty of green onions will make the ramen pancake much richer and more aromatic.
Step 2
Now it’s time to cook the ramen noodles. Bring a generous pot of water to a boil and add the ramen noodles. Cook them for about 4 minutes, which is about 1 minute less than the time indicated on the package. Cooking the noodles slightly less ensures a chewier and more delicious texture when pan-fried.
Step 3
Immediately drain the cooked noodles thoroughly in a colander. Gently loosen the noodles to prevent them from clumping together.
Step 4
To the drained noodles, add the chopped green onions and half (1/2) of the ramen seasoning packet. Mix well by hand, gently kneading the ingredients together to ensure everything is evenly coated. Be sure to only use half the seasoning packet, as using the whole thing might make it too salty.
Step 5
Now, prepare your pan by adding a generous amount of cooking oil and preheating it over medium-low heat. Cooking over high heat can burn the noodles, so it’s important to cook them slowly over a low flame.
Step 6
Spread the ramen mixture evenly in the preheated pan. If you spread it thinly and widely, you’ll get a crispier and tastier ramen pancake. Use chopsticks to shape it.
Step 7
Once the bottom side is golden brown and cooked over medium-low heat, carefully flip it over. If the ramen mixture is spread thinly, you can make a large pancake, but if the noodles are clumpy and difficult to spread thinly, it’s perfectly fine to make several smaller ones. Use a spatula or chopsticks for a delicate flip.
Step 8
Flip it again and continue to cook until both sides are golden brown and thoroughly cooked. If the pan seems dry, add a little more oil. Your delicious ramen pancake is now ready!
Step 9
Transfer the perfectly cooked ramen pancake to a plate and enjoy immediately. Letting it cool slightly will enhance its crispiness, savory flavor, and salty taste, resulting in the best ramen pancake. It’s perfect as a kid’s snack or a delightful accompaniment to beer!
