Main Ingredients- 1/2 Korean radish (medium size)
Seasoning Ingredients- 2 Tbsp Gochugaru (Korean chili flakes)
- 2 Tbsp minced garlic
- 2 Tbsp vinegar
- 2 Tbsp plum extract (or syrup)
- 2 Tbsp sugar
- 2 Tbsp fish sauce (anchovy or sand lance)
- Pinch of salt (to taste)
- 2 Tbsp Gochugaru (Korean chili flakes)
- 2 Tbsp minced garlic
- 2 Tbsp vinegar
- 2 Tbsp plum extract (or syrup)
- 2 Tbsp sugar
- 2 Tbsp fish sauce (anchovy or sand lance)
- Pinch of salt (to taste)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Wash the Korean radish thoroughly, peel it, and then slice it into thin, fine julienne strips using a mandoline slicer or a knife. The thinner the radish strips, the better they will absorb the seasoning and taste more delicious.
Step 2
Add 2 tablespoons of gochugaru (Korean chili flakes) to the julienned radish and gently mix it with your hands. Marinating the radish with gochugaru first helps to draw out its moisture, giving it a beautiful color and a deeper spicy flavor.
Step 3
Now, add 2 tablespoons of minced garlic, 2 tablespoons of vinegar, 2 tablespoons of plum extract, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and 2 tablespoons of fish sauce. Mix everything together thoroughly to ensure all the seasonings evenly coat the radish strips.
Step 4
Finally, taste the salad and adjust the seasoning by adding a pinch of salt if needed, according to your preference. For an extra touch of nutty flavor, sprinkle with sesame seeds. Enjoy your delicious Musaengchae!
