Crispy Pollack Jerky Bites with Soy-Mayo Dipping Sauce (Air Fryer Recipe)
Effortlessly crispy air fryer pollack jerky, perfect as a snack, served with a savory and sweet soy-mayonnaise dipping sauce!
Instead of a full dinner, I decided to whip up a fantastic beer snack! My child was having chicken at a friend’s house, and my partner wasn’t particular about dinner, so there was no need for an elaborate meal. He mentioned wanting a beer later, so I rummaged through the pantry and found some pollack jerky I’d recently bought. I decided to try making it in the air fryer. I briefly considered deep-frying it, but that seemed a bit too much effort for a simple snack. This recipe is incredibly easy but tastes absolutely delicious. Dipping it into the special soy-mayonnaise sauce makes it even better!
Pollack Jerky Ingredients- 1 handful dried pollack jerky
- A little cooking oil (if pan-frying)
Soy-Mayonnaise Sauce Ingredients- 1 Tbsp soy sauce
- 2 Tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tsp honey
- 1 Korean chili pepper (finely chopped)
- 1 Tbsp soy sauce
- 2 Tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tsp honey
- 1 Korean chili pepper (finely chopped)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Cut the dried pollack jerky into bite-sized pieces. Cutting them into manageable lengths will make them easier to cook in the air fryer or pan and more convenient to eat.
Step 2
If using an air fryer, spread the pollack jerky evenly in the air fryer basket. Cook at 180°C (350°F) for 7-8 minutes. It’s advisable to check periodically to ensure it doesn’t burn and adjust the timer as needed. (Setting the timer for 10 minutes and checking halfway is recommended).
Step 3
If you prefer to pan-fry or pan-roast, heat a pan over medium-low heat. Add the pollack jerky and stir continuously for about 5 minutes to prevent burning. Be watchful and adjust the heat as necessary, as it can burn easily.
Step 4
To make the soy-mayonnaise sauce, combine 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise, and 1 teaspoon of honey in a small bowl. Mix well. Finely chop the Korean chili pepper and add it to the sauce for a spicy kick, enhancing the overall flavor. This simple sauce is key to elevating the taste of the pollack jerky.
