Say Goodbye to Dry Chicken Breast! How to Make a Perfectly Crispy and Tender Chicken Breast Steak
For my daughter, who absolutely loves chicken, I’ve prepared a special chicken breast steak today! It’s crispy on the outside and incredibly juicy on the inside. Enjoy a tender chicken breast dish without any dryness!
Main Ingredients- 180g chicken breast
- 1/4 onion
- 1/4 bell pepper
- 4 cloves garlic
- 4 cherry tomatoes
- Pinch of salt
- Pinch of black pepper
- Olive oil, as needed
Sauce Ingredients- 1 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp ketchup
- 1 Tbsp butter
- 50ml water
- 1 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp ketchup
- 1 Tbsp butter
- 50ml water
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, wash the chicken breast thoroughly under running water. Then, pat it dry completely with paper towels. This step is crucial for achieving a crispy exterior when cooking.
Step 2
To ensure the chicken breast cooks evenly in the pan, its thickness should be consistent. If your chicken breast has uneven thickness, gently pound the thicker parts with a meat mallet or the back of a knife to even it out. Alternatively, you can butterfly the thicker parts to create a more uniform thickness.
Step 3
Score both sides of the chicken breast with shallow cuts. Scoring helps the seasoning penetrate better and promotes even cooking.
Step 4
Lightly season the scored chicken breast on both sides with salt and black pepper. Then, drizzle olive oil evenly over both sides to coat.
Step 5
Spread the olive oil evenly across the entire surface of the chicken breast. This prevents it from drying out and enhances the flavor during cooking.
Step 6
Cover the chicken breast with plastic wrap and let it rest in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. This marinating period will make the chicken breast even more tender.
Step 7
Prepare the vegetables to serve alongside the steak. Chop the onion, bell pepper, garlic, and cherry tomatoes into bite-sized pieces. Feel free to add other vegetables like mushrooms or broccoli according to your preference.
Step 8
Heat a pan with a generous amount of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the minced garlic and chopped onion, and sauté until fragrant. The aromatic vegetables will add depth to the flavor of your chicken breast steak.
Step 9
Once the garlic and onion become translucent, reduce the heat to medium. Place the prepared chicken breast onto the pan. It’s important to cook over medium heat rather than high heat to avoid dryness.
Step 10
When one side of the chicken breast is golden brown, flip it over. I cooked each side for about 4 minutes over medium heat. Unlike beef steak, chicken breast can become dry if cooked on high heat for too long, so maintaining medium heat and cooking slowly is key.
Step 11
Cook the other side until it’s also golden brown. To check if it’s done, insert a chopstick into the thickest part of the chicken breast; if it goes in smoothly and clear juices run out, it’s cooked through. If you see any pinkness, cook it a little longer.
Step 12
Transfer the cooked chicken breast steak to a plate and let it rest for about 3 minutes. This resting period allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, making it even more succulent.
Step 13
While the chicken breast is resting, use the same pan to make the sauce. Add all the sauce ingredients (soy sauce, ketchup, butter, water) and simmer over medium-low heat until slightly thickened. You can also use store-bought steak sauce or serve it with chili sauce for dipping.
Step 14
Pour the warm, simmered sauce generously over the rested chicken breast steak on the plate. Behold the perfectly crispy outside and tender inside chicken breast steak! You’ll experience incredible tenderness instead of dryness.
Step 15
This chicken breast steak is not only delicious and healthy but also excellent in terms of value! It’s a fantastic meal that the whole family can enjoy. Highly recommended! ^^♡
