Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Hello everyone! Today, I’ll show you how to make delicious nurungji (scorched rice) very easily and quickly using an air fryer. With just some leftover rice, a wonderful snack will be ready in no time.

Step 1

Step 2

First, line your air fryer basket or tray with parchment paper. Then, spread the 1 bowl of cooked rice thinly and evenly over it. It’s important to spread it so that each grain of rice is somewhat separated.

Step 2

Step 3

If the rice is clumping and hard to spread, lightly dampen your hands with water and then spread the rice. Be careful not to use too much water, as it can make the rice soggy. Just aim for your hands to be slightly moist.

Step 3

Step 4

Once you’ve spread the rice thinly and evenly to fit the air fryer, you’ve almost completed the hardest part! Doing this well will result in delicious nurungji.

Step 4

Step 5

Carefully place the spread rice, still on the parchment paper, into the air fryer. Set the air fryer to 180°C (350°F) and cook for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, carefully flip the nurungji and cook for another 10 minutes at 180°C (350°F) on the other side.

Step 5

Step 6

If you prefer your nurungji even crispier and more golden brown, you can extend the cooking time slightly or adjust the temperature for a bit longer. Enjoy your perfectly golden and crispy nurungji!
