Essential Ingredients- 5 sheets of Gim (seaweed)
- 1 cup tempura flour (or all-purpose flour)
- 1 egg
- 1 Tbsp cooking oil
- A little water (for batter)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Let’s make delicious Gim-mari rolls using the leftover Japchae from the holidays. This recipe magically transforms leftover Japchae into a fantastic snack.
Step 2
First, lay out one sheet of Gim flat. Generously place the prepared Japchae onto the Gim. To prevent the roll from unraveling, lightly moisten the edge of the Gim with water or a dab of cooked rice. This will help seal it tightly. Don’t overfill, or it will be difficult to roll. Roll the Gim tightly, then cut it into three equal portions for easy handling.
Step 3
Now, let’s prepare the crispy batter for coating the Gim-mari. In a bowl, add 1 cup of tempura flour and crack in 1 egg. Gradually add a little water while mixing until you achieve a smooth batter consistency – it should be thick enough to coat the rolls without being too runny. Dip the prepared Japchae rolls into the batter, ensuring they are evenly coated.
Step 4
Place the batter-coated Gim-mari rolls into your preheated air fryer. Cook at 185°C (365°F) for 13 minutes. Flipping them halfway through will help ensure they become evenly golden and crispy. Please adjust the cooking time based on your air fryer’s specifications.
Step 5
Voila! Your crispy on the outside, moist on the inside, delicious Japchae Gim-mari rolls are ready. They taste best when served warm. Enjoy them with your favorite dipping sauce, like ketchup or chili sauce!
