Tangsuyuk Ingredients

  • 1/2 Onion, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 Green Bell Pepper, deseeded and cut into similar sizes
  • 1/3 Yellow Bell Pepper, for color
  • 1/3 Red Bell Pepper, for vibrant appeal
  • 25 Frozen Dumplings (water dumplings recommended, any brand like Bibigo works well)

Tangsuyuk Sauce Ingredients

  • 150ml Water
  • 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 3 Tbsp Ketchup
  • 3 Tbsp Vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp Oligosaccharide (or corn syrup)
  • 1 Tbsp Sugar

Slurry for Thickening

  • 1 Tbsp Starch (cornstarch or potato starch)
  • 2 Tbsp Water

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, let’s prepare the colorful vegetables that will add beauty to your dumpling tangsuyuk. Peel the onion and cut it into quarters, then into bite-sized pieces. Remove the stem and seeds from the green bell pepper and cut it into pieces similar in size to the onion. Wash the yellow and red bell peppers, remove the seeds, and chop them into enjoyable, bite-sized pieces. These vibrant vegetables will make your finished tangsuyuk look even more appetizing.

Step 1

Step 2

Now it’s time to fry the dumplings! Pour a generous amount of cooking oil into a wide frying pan and preheat it over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the frozen dumplings. Fry them until they are golden brown and crispy on all sides, flipping them occasionally. It’s important to manage the heat to prevent the dumplings from burning.

Step 2

Step 3

While the dumplings are frying to perfection, let’s make the sauce. In a pot or a deep frying pan, add a little olive oil. Once heated, add the chopped onion, green bell pepper, and bell peppers. Stir-fry over high heat for a short time. Cook just until the vegetables are tender-crisp, ensuring they don’t become too soft. Stir-frying them quickly will bring out their fragrant aroma.

Step 3

Step 4

To the stir-fried vegetables, add all the ingredients for the tangsuyuk sauce: water, soy sauce, ketchup, vinegar, oligosaccharide, and sugar. Stir well to combine everything. Bring the sauce to a boil over medium heat. Once it starts to bubble, reduce the heat slightly and let it simmer for another 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together. A delightful sweet and sour aroma will fill your kitchen!

Step 4

Step 5

Finally, it’s time to thicken the sauce. In a small bowl, mix 1 tablespoon of starch with 2 tablespoons of water until smooth, creating a slurry. Gradually pour this slurry into the simmering tangsuyuk sauce while stirring continuously. Add just enough slurry to reach your desired consistency. You’ll achieve a glossy, thickened sauce.

Step 5

Step 6

All the preparations are complete! Arrange the beautifully fried, crispy dumplings on a serving plate. Generously ladle the warm, delicious tangsuyuk sauce over the dumplings. For an extra touch, you can garnish with the stir-fried vegetables. Serve immediately while hot to enjoy the fantastic crispy exterior and tender interior texture. Enjoy your homemade Dumpling Tangsuyuk!
