Mandu Tangsuyuk Ingredients

  • 18 frozen dumplings
  • 1/2 onion
  • 1/4 carrot
  • 1/4 cucumber
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 2 Tbsp oligodang (oligosaccharide syrup)
  • 2 Tbsp vinegar
  • 3 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 pinch parsley flakes (optional)
  • 1 Tbsp ketchup
  • 3 Tbsp cooking oil (for frying dumplings)
  • 1/2 cup fruit cocktail (optional)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

The Mandu Tangsuyuk we’re introducing today is incredibly simple to make and tastes absolutely delicious, making it a perfect dish for the whole family to enjoy. It’s especially popular as a snack for kids!

Step 1

Step 2

First, place the frozen dumplings from the freezer into a bowl. Drizzle a little cooking oil over the dumplings and toss to coat them evenly; this will help them become crispier when fried. Line the bottom of your air fryer basket with parchment paper and arrange the oiled dumplings in a single layer, ensuring they don’t overlap. This also makes cleanup much easier later.

Step 2

Step 3

Preheat your air fryer to 180°C (350°F) and then cook the dumplings for 15 minutes. I didn’t flip them halfway, and they turned out perfectly crispy on the bottom. If they don’t seem cooked enough after opening, you can add another 2 minutes to ensure they are done.

Step 3

Step 4

Now, let’s make the delicious Tangsuyuk sauce! For this sauce that pairs wonderfully with the crispy dumplings, prepare the vegetables like onion, carrot, and cucumber by chopping them into bite-sized pieces. The prepared ingredients will soon add wonderful flavor to your sauce.

Step 4

Step 5

Place the chopped vegetables in a pan with a little cooking oil and stir-fry over medium heat. Once the vegetables start to become slightly translucent, add 1/2 cup of water. Then, sequentially add the vinegar, oligodang, ketchup, and soy sauce, and bring it to a boil. A sweet and sour aroma will begin to fill the air.

Step 5

Step 6

Once the sauce is boiling, gradually pour in the cornstarch mixture (cornstarch dissolved in a little water) while stirring rapidly. Continue stirring and cooking until you reach your desired sauce consistency. A glossy and delicious Tangsuyuk sauce will be complete. Tip: Adding all the cornstarch mixture at once can cause lumps, so it’s important to add it little by little while adjusting the consistency.

Step 6

Step 7

Now, generously pour the warm Tangsuyuk sauce over the crispy fried dumplings. Your spectacular Mandu Tangsuyuk, crispy on the outside and delightfully chewy on the inside, is ready! For an extra touch, sprinkle some parsley flakes on top for a more appealing presentation. Enjoy your meal!
