Wondering what to snack on while enjoying a cold beer after a long day? I thought about the frozen dumplings in my freezer and decided to make this delicious Mandu Gangjeong! It’s a perfect snack that’s crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside, and coated in an addictive sweet and spicy sauce. Simple yet incredibly satisfying!
For the Mandu Gangjeong- 1 bag frozen dumplings (choose your favorite type)
- 2 Tbsp cooking oil (for pan-frying the dumplings until crispy)
- 1 Tbsp sugar (adjust to your sweetness preference)
- 1 Tbsp soy sauce (for savory depth)
- 1 Tbsp minced garlic (for aromatic flavor)
- 1 Tbsp ketchup (for a tangy sweetness)
- 1 Tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste, for spicy kick!)
- 1 Tbsp corn syrup or oligosaccharide (for shine and extra sweetness)
- A small amount of green onion, finely chopped (for garnish)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Heat 1 Tbsp of cooking oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the frozen dumplings and pan-fry them until they are golden brown and crispy on all sides. Ensure the dumplings are thoroughly cooked and develop a satisfying crisp texture – this is key!

While the dumplings are frying, let’s prepare the delicious sauce! In a small bowl, combine 1 Tbsp sugar, 1 Tbsp soy sauce, 1 Tbsp corn syrup (or oligosaccharide), 1 Tbsp ketchup, 1 Tbsp gochujang, and 1 Tbsp minced garlic.
