- Pinch of black pepper
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- Pinch of sesame seeds
Seasoning Sauce- 1 Tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 1 Tbsp gochugaru (Korean chili flakes)
- 1 Tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1/2 Tbsp sugar
- 1 Tbsp cooking wine (mirin)
- 1/2 Tbsp minced garlic
- 1 Tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 1 Tbsp gochugaru (Korean chili flakes)
- 1 Tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1/2 Tbsp sugar
- 1 Tbsp cooking wine (mirin)
- 1/2 Tbsp minced garlic
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Prepare your ingredients: fresh cabbage, which is good for your eyes and digestion, and canned tuna, a staple for many. Make sure to drain the oil from the tuna can before cooking.
Step 2
Finely chop the green onion. Using the white parts will add more aroma.
Step 3
Wash the cabbage thoroughly and slice it into strips about 0.5 cm thick. If you slice it too thinly, it might become too soft when cooked.
Step 4
In a small bowl, combine the seasoning ingredients using a tablespoon as your measuring tool: 1 Tbsp gochujang, 1 Tbsp gochugaru, 1/2 Tbsp sugar, 1 Tbsp soy sauce, 1/2 Tbsp minced garlic, 1 Tbsp oyster sauce, and 1 Tbsp cooking wine. Mix well to create the seasoning sauce.
Step 5
Heat 1-2 tablespoons of cooking oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the shredded cabbage and stir-fry for 1-2 minutes, just until it slightly wilts. Avoid overcooking to maintain its crispiness.
Step 6
Once the cabbage begins to turn translucent, add the prepared seasoning sauce. Stir-fry for another minute until the sauce coats the cabbage evenly. Be mindful of the heat to prevent the sauce from burning.
Step 7
Add the drained tuna to the pan. Break it up with your spatula and mix it with the cabbage and sauce until well combined. Don’t cook the tuna for too long, or it might become dry.
Step 8
Add the chopped green onions and a pinch of black pepper. Continue to stir-fry over medium heat for about 1 more minute, allowing the flavors to meld together.
Step 9
Just before turning off the heat, drizzle in 1 teaspoon of sesame oil. This will add a wonderful nutty aroma and deepen the overall flavor of the dish.
Step 10
Finally, sprinkle with sesame seeds to complete your delicious Cabbage and Tuna Rice Bowl! Serve generously over warm rice. For an extra treat, add a fried egg or some shredded seaweed on top. Mix everything together and enjoy this delightful meal!
