I’ve loved seasoned soybean sprouts since I was young, but seasoned bean sprouts hold a special place in my heart, just as much as soybean sprout salad. When I went to buy soybean sprouts at the market, I saw fresh bean sprouts next to them and felt like making a crunchy and delicious bean sprout salad after a long time. I always gravitated towards soybean sprouts, but this time, these vibrant bean sprouts helped me solve my side dish dilemma. Now, I’ll share a detailed and easy-to-follow recipe for making seasoned bean sprouts!
Main Ingredients- 400g fresh bean sprouts
- 20g carrot, julienned
- 10g scallion, finely chopped
Seasoning Ingredients- 2 Tbsp sesame oil
- 1 Tbsp minced garlic
- 1 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp toasted sesame seeds
- 1/3 Tbsp salt (to taste)

Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, rinse the bean sprouts thoroughly under running water. Make sure to wash them multiple times to remove any dirt or debris.
Step 2
Julienne the carrot into thin strips, about 0.3cm thick. Cut the scallion in half lengthwise, then thinly slice it into 0.3cm pieces to add aromatic flavor.
Step 3
Bring a pot of water to a rolling boil. Add the prepared bean sprouts and blanch for exactly 1 minute. Be careful not to overcook them, as they can become mushy. Timing is crucial!
Step 4
Immediately after blanching, rinse the bean sprouts quickly under cold running water to stop the cooking process. Drain them well in a colander, ensuring all excess water is removed. Lingering water can dilute the flavor of the salad.
Step 5
In a large bowl, combine the well-drained bean sprouts, julienned carrots, and chopped scallions. Add the nutty sesame oil (2 Tbsp), minced garlic (1 Tbsp), savory soy sauce (1 Tbsp), toasted sesame seeds (1 Tbsp), and salt (1/3 Tbsp) to adjust the seasoning. Gently toss everything together with your hands until the seasonings are evenly distributed. Your delicious and crunchy bean sprout salad is now ready!
