Main Ingredients

  • 550g Korean radish (about 1/3 of a medium radish)
  • A small amount of green onion

Seasoning Ingredients

  • 2 pinches of salt
  • 3 Tbsp fish sauce (e.g., Kanari Aekjeot)
  • 3 Tbsp vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 Tbsp minced garlic
  • A pinch of sesame seeds

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Wash the fresh radish thoroughly, peel it, and then julienne it into thin, long strips. Place the julienned radish in a large bowl. It’s important to cut the radish strips uniformly, as the thickness can affect how well the seasonings are absorbed.

Step 1

Step 2

In the prepared bowl, add all the seasoning ingredients listed: salt, fish sauce, vinegar, sugar, minced garlic, and sesame seeds. Feel free to adjust the amount of sugar and vinegar to your personal taste. For example, if you prefer a tangier flavor, add a little more vinegar, or if you like it sweeter, add a bit more sugar.

Step 2

Step 3

After adding all the seasoning ingredients, gently toss the julienned radish with your hands until the seasonings are evenly distributed. Be careful not to mix too vigorously, as this can release too much moisture from the radish and reduce its crispiness. Finely chop the green onion and add it at the very end, mixing lightly. This crispy, tangy, and sweet radish salad is delicious immediately, but letting it chill in the refrigerator for a while allows the flavors to meld even further, creating a richer taste.
