Crispy and Simple Radish Salad (Musaengchae)
Super Easy [Musaengchae] Recipe!
Make a quick and delicious radish salad (Musaengchae) at home! ✨ This recipe is incredibly simple and perfect for adding a refreshing crunch to your meals. It’s a rice thief that takes only about 30 minutes!
Main Ingredients- 1/2 Korean radish (approx. 500g), julienned (or pre-cut radish from the store)
- A pinch of sesame seeds
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Wash the radish thoroughly and thinly julienne it. (Using pre-cut radish from the store will make this even easier!) Place the julienned radish in a bowl, add 4 Tbsp of sugar, and gently mix. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes. Salting with sugar helps draw out moisture, ensuring a crisp texture.
Step 2
After 30 minutes, discard the liquid that has been released from the radish. Now, add all the seasoning ingredients: 2 Tbsp gochugaru, 4 Tbsp fish sauce, 2 Tbsp minced garlic, and 2 Tbsp vinegar. Gently toss everything together to combine. We recommend using white vinegar for a cleaner flavor, but regular vinegar works too. If using regular vinegar, taste and adjust the amount as its acidity can vary.
Step 3
Gently mix the radish and seasonings until evenly coated. Finally, sprinkle with sesame seeds for garnish. Your incredibly simple and delicious Musaengchae is ready, boasting a vibrant color and satisfying crunch! It’s great served immediately, but chilling it in the refrigerator for a bit will enhance its refreshing taste.
