Melt-in-Your-Mouth Sweet Butter Cookies: A Foolproof Recipe!
You can make professional-quality delicious butter cookies at home with simple ingredients! I was so surprised when I first tried making them; they tasted even better than store-bought butter cookies. This is a convenient recipe that’s great to use when you don’t have almond flour, perfect even for beginners! Enjoy the delightful tea time with these homemade cookies, boasting a rich butter flavor and a wonderfully crisp texture!
Golden Ratio Ingredients for Butter Cookies- 95g cake flour (low-gluten flour)
- 60g unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
- 40g unrefined sugar
- 1 large egg, room temperature
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1-2 drops of vanilla extract
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, in a bowl, take the unsalted butter that has been softened at room temperature until pliable. Cream it with a whisk or spatula for 1-2 minutes until smooth. Then, add the unrefined sugar and a pinch of salt, and mix well until the sugar is incorporated into the butter, forming a creamy consistency. Continue mixing until the butter turns a light ivory color as the sugar dissolves.
Step 2
In a separate bowl, crack the room-temperature egg. Whisk it vigorously until well combined with the butter mixture, ensuring it emulsifies properly to prevent separation. Next, sift the 95g of cake flour over the mixture. Using a spatula, gently fold the flour into the wet ingredients until just combined and no dry streaks remain. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the cookies tough. Add 1-2 drops of vanilla extract for a fragrant aroma.
Step 3
Transfer the cookie dough into a piping bag fitted with your desired tip. Pipe the dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, creating your desired shapes. You can pipe them into simple rounds or swirl them in a spiral pattern for beautiful butter cookie designs. (Tip: If you pipe them with a hollow center, like I often do, they’ll resemble classic ‘Butterfinger’ style cookies with a hole in the middle. Feel free to get creative with your shapes!)
Step 4
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Arrange the piped cookies on the baking sheet, leaving some space between them. Bake for 13 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden brown. Once baked, carefully remove the cookies from the oven. Transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely. Allowing them to cool fully will ensure a crispier texture. Enjoy your delicious homemade butter cookies!
