Ingredients- Lettuce (Yang Sang Choo) 120g (approx. 1/4 head)
- Gochugaru (Korean chili powder) 2 Tbsp
- Soy Sauce 2 Tbsp
- Minced Garlic 1 tsp
- Sugar 1 Tbsp
- Sesame Oil 1 tsp
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Wash the fresh lettuce thoroughly under running water and gently pat it dry. Ensuring the lettuce is well-drained is key to preventing the dressing from becoming watery and ensuring a flavorful salad. Tear the lettuce into bite-sized pieces by hand. Tearing rather than cutting helps maintain a pleasant, slightly chunky texture that enhances the eating experience.
Step 2
In a bowl, combine the gochugaru (2 Tbsp), soy sauce (2 Tbsp), minced garlic (1 tsp), sugar (1 Tbsp), and sesame oil (1 tsp). Whisk these ingredients together until well combined, creating a flavorful dressing. This blend ensures a balanced mix of spice, sweetness, and savory notes.
Step 3
Add the torn lettuce to the prepared dressing and gently toss to coat. Be careful not to overmix or bruise the lettuce; the goal is to evenly distribute the dressing without making the lettuce soggy. Serve immediately for maximum crispness, or let it sit for a few minutes to allow the flavors to meld beautifully for a slightly softer, more seasoned taste.
