Main Ingredients

  • 400g bean sprouts (Wash thoroughly and prepare.)
  • 1/4 stalk green onion (Finely chopped.)
  • 1 Tbsp salt (For blanching the bean sprouts.)

Seasoning

  • 1 Tbsp soup soy sauce (Adds umami.)
  • 0.5 Tbsp minced garlic (Adjust quantity if you prefer less garlic flavor.)
  • 1.5 Tbsp sesame oil (Adds a nutty aroma.)
  • 0.3 Tbsp salt (Adjust to your taste.)
  • 1 Tbsp sesame seeds (Adds a nutty crunch.)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare the bean sprouts. Rinse them in cold water while agitating them to remove any dirt or impurities. Rinse them several times, drain, and set aside.

Step 1

Step 2

Wash the green onion thoroughly, then finely chop both the white and green parts. This will serve as a garnish and add a subtle onion fragrance.

Step 2

Step 3

Fill a pot with plenty of water and add 1 tablespoon of salt to season it. Bring the water to a rolling boil over high heat.

Step 3

Step 4

Once the water is boiling vigorously, add all the prepared bean sprouts. Keep the heat on high and blanch them quickly for about 40 seconds. Overcooking will make them mushy, so timing is crucial!

Step 4

Step 5

Immediately after blanching, drain the bean sprouts and rinse them briefly under cold running water. This helps cool them down and maintains their crisp texture. Drain them thoroughly in a colander, and gently press them with your hands to remove any remaining water.

Step 5

Step 6

In a bowl, combine 1 tablespoon of soup soy sauce, 0.5 tablespoon of minced garlic, 1.5 tablespoons of sesame oil, 0.3 tablespoon of salt, and 1 tablespoon of sesame seeds. Stir well to mix all the seasoning ingredients evenly.

Step 6

Step 7

Add the drained bean sprouts and the chopped green onion to the prepared seasoning mixture. Gently toss and mix with your hands until the seasoning is evenly distributed throughout the bean sprouts. Be careful not to overmix, as this can break the sprouts. Transfer the finished seasoned bean sprouts to a plate and enjoy!
