- 1 Tbsp Gochugaru (Korean chili flakes)
- 1 Tbsp Oligodang (corn syrup)

- A pinch of sesame seeds
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Korean green peppers are excellent for stir-fries due to their unique texture and flavor. First, neatly trim off the stems of the peppers. Rinse them thoroughly under running water multiple times to ensure they are clean and free of any debris.
Step 2
Once washed, prepare the Korean green peppers according to their size. If they are short, leave them whole. For longer peppers, cut them in half or into thirds to make them bite-sized. This ensures the seasoning coats evenly and makes them easier to eat.
Step 3
Now it’s time to season the peppers. You can add the seasoning ingredients directly to the peppers without making a separate sauce, which makes it incredibly convenient. Start by adding half a tablespoon of sugar.
Step 4
Add 1 tablespoon of oligodang for sweetness. Oligodang is great for adding shine and a smooth sweetness to the dish.
Step 5
Add a generous 1 tablespoon of gochujang for a deep, savory flavor. Be careful not to add too much, as it can make the dish too salty; 1 tablespoon is about right.
Step 6
Add half a tablespoon of Kkanari aekjeot to enhance the savory taste. You can use other types of fish sauce or even soy sauce instead of Kkanari aekjeot. Fish sauce significantly elevates the overall flavor of the dish.
Step 7
Add half a tablespoon of vinegar for a touch of sourness. Vinegar helps to cut through richness and stimulates the appetite.
Step 8
Finally, add 1 tablespoon of gochugaru for a spicy kick. You can adjust the amount of chili flakes according to your preference for heat.
Step 9
After adding all the seasoning ingredients, gently mix and toss the Korean green peppers with your hands until the seasoning is evenly distributed. Ensure every pepper is well-coated. Finally, sprinkle a generous amount of sesame seeds on top for a nutty aroma, and your delicious instant Korean green pepper salad is ready!
Step 10
This finished Korean green pepper salad offers a delightful crispy texture, a perfect balance of spicy, sweet, and sour flavors, and a rich nutty finish that makes it an irresistible side dish. Enjoy a delicious meal with this super simple recipe! : )
