Main Ingredients- Bean sprouts 2 handfuls (approx. 200g)
Seasoning- Korean rock salt 0.5 tsp
- Sesame oil 1 tsp
- Toasted sesame seeds 1 tsp
- Korean rock salt 0.5 tsp
- Sesame oil 1 tsp
- Toasted sesame seeds 1 tsp
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, rinse the bean sprouts thoroughly under running water. Pour about 2 cups of water into a pot and bring it to a boil over high heat. Once the water is boiling, add 2 handfuls of bean sprouts, and **never cover the pot!** To maintain the crisp texture of the bean sprouts, boil them for about 2 to 3 minutes with the lid off. Once the bean sprouts are cooked, immediately remove them, rinse them quickly in cold water to cool them down, and drain them completely in a colander. Gently shake them with your hands to help remove excess water.
Step 2
Place the drained bean sprouts in a large bowl. Add all the prepared seasoning ingredients. Season with 0.5 tsp of Korean rock salt for taste, 1 tsp of aromatic sesame oil for flavor, and finally, 1 tsp of toasted sesame seeds for nutty goodness. Now, gently toss the bean sprouts with your hands to evenly distribute the seasoning. Be careful not to over-mix, as this can make the bean sprouts mushy. A gentle, massaging motion is key.
Step 3
Beautifully plate the seasoned bean sprouts, and it’s ready to serve! It tastes incredibly delicious when paired with a warm bowl of rice. Enjoy a healthy and tasty homemade meal with this fresh and crisp bean sprout salad!
