- 1 Tbsp Minced garlic
- 1 Tbsp Gochugaru (Korean chili flakes)
- 0.5 Tbsp Sugar
- 1 Tbsp Toasted sesame seeds
- 1 Tbsp Sesame oil
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, wash the bell peppers thoroughly. Remove the stems, then scoop out and discard all the seeds and the white pith inside. Once clean, slice them lengthwise into strips about 0.5 cm thick. Cutting them slightly thicker will help maintain their crispiness after mixing, making them even more delicious.
Step 2
Divide the sliced bell peppers into two separate bowls. In one bowl, add the ingredients for the Miso dressing (1 Tbsp soybean paste, 1 Tbsp minced garlic, 1 Tbsp gochugaru, 0.5 Tbsp sugar). In the other bowl, add the ingredients for the Gochujang dressing (1 Tbsp gochujang, 1 Tbsp minced garlic, 1 Tbsp gochugaru, 0.5 Tbsp sugar). Preparing the dressings separately ensures a clean and distinct flavor for each.
Step 3
Gently toss the bell peppers with the respective seasonings in each bowl using your hands. Avoid mixing too vigorously, as this can make the bell peppers mushy. It’s important to gently mix them (‘jomal-jomal’) until the seasonings are evenly distributed. Finally, add 1 Tbsp of sesame oil and 1 Tbsp of toasted sesame seeds to each bowl for shine and nutty aroma. Your delicious bell pepper salad is ready! You can enjoy it immediately, or chill it in the refrigerator for a while for an even cooler and crisper experience.
