Essential Ingredients- 2 bowls of cooked rice (warm)
- 1/4 carrot
- 1/2 green bell pepper
- 1/2 paper cup all-purpose flour
- 1 egg
- 1/2 paper cup breadcrumbs
- 4 mini sausages
- 1 string cheese stick
- Vegetable oil (for spraying)
Seasoning Ingredients- 2 Tbsp oyster sauce
- Pinch of salt
- Pinch of black pepper
- 2 Tbsp oyster sauce
- Pinch of salt
- Pinch of black pepper
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the filling ingredients for the Bob-Dog. Peel and wash the carrot thoroughly, and remove the seeds from the green bell pepper. Finely mince both vegetables. Using a food chopper or processor will make this step quicker and easier.
Step 2
Place 2 bowls of warm cooked rice into a large bowl. Add the finely minced carrot and green bell pepper. Then, add the seasoning ingredients: 2 tablespoons of oyster sauce, a pinch of salt, and a pinch of black pepper. Knead the mixture with your hands until all ingredients are well combined and the rice forms a cohesive mass.
Step 3
Take a portion of the mixed rice and flatten it in your palm. Place one mini sausage and half a string cheese stick (or to your desired size) in the center. Carefully wrap the rice around the filling, ensuring no ingredients leak out, and shape it into an oval or round form. Press firmly to ensure the filling is well-enclosed.
Step 4
Now, it’s time to coat the shaped Bob-Dogs. First, lightly dredge each Bob-Dog in flour, ensuring an even coating. Next, dip it into a lightly beaten egg wash. Finally, generously coat the Bob-Dog with breadcrumbs, making sure the entire surface is covered. This thorough coating will help achieve a crispy exterior in the air fryer.
Step 5
Arrange the breaded Bob-Dogs in the air fryer basket, leaving some space between them so they cook evenly. Generously spray the tops of the Bob-Dogs with vegetable oil for extra crispiness and flavor. No preheating is necessary. Air fry at 190°C (375°F) for about 15 minutes, until golden brown and crispy. Flipping them halfway through will ensure even cooking. Serve your delicious Bob-Dogs warm!
