How to Make Crispy Seaweed in an Air Fryer with Wild Chive Sauce
Enjoy a super simple and light snack! This recipe shows you how to easily make crispy seaweed in your air fryer, perfectly complemented by a refreshing wild chive dipping sauce.
Main Ingredients- Dried Seaweed sheets
- 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce (Jinganjang)
- 1 Tbsp Fish Sauce (Anchovy or Sand Lance)
- 2 Tbsp Water
- 1 Tbsp Gochugaru (Korean chili flakes)
- 1 Tbsp Sesame Oil
- 1 Tbsp Toasted Sesame Seeds
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Prepare the Seaweed: Before you start, gently brush off any loose crumbs or debris from the seaweed sheets. This ensures a cleaner final product.
Step 2
Cut the Seaweed: Using scissors or a knife, cut the dried seaweed sheets into 6 equal pieces. This size is generally good for snacking, but feel free to adjust it to your preference.
Step 3
Arrange in Air Fryer: Place the cut seaweed pieces in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure they don’t overlap too much. Overcrowding can lead to uneven crisping.
Step 4
Air Fry: Set the air fryer to 160°C (320°F) and cook for 4 to 5 minutes. Keep an eye on it to prevent burning, as seaweed can cook quickly. Once crisp, remove and let it cool slightly.
Step 5
Make the Wild Chive Sauce: To prepare the flavorful sauce, first clean and trim the wild chives, then finely chop them. Finely chop the red chili and scallions as well. In a small bowl, combine the chopped wild chives, red chili, and scallions. Add the soy sauce, fish sauce, water, gochugaru, sesame oil, and sesame seeds.
Step 6
Mix and Adjust Seasoning: Gently mix all the sauce ingredients together until well combined. Avoid overmixing to preserve the fresh aroma of the wild chives. If the sauce seems too thick or salty, add a little more water to reach your desired consistency. You can also adjust the amounts of soy sauce or fish sauce to suit your taste. Serve the delicious wild chive sauce alongside the crispy air-fried seaweed for a delightful combination.
