Main Ingredients- 1.5 Apples (medium-sized)
- A small bunch of green onions, finely chopped
Flavoring Seasoning- 4 Tbsp Gochugaru (Korean chili powder)
- 1 Tbsp Sugar
- 1 Tbsp Minced Garlic
- 1 Tbsp Saeujeot (fermented shrimp paste), finely chopped
- 1 Tbsp Fish Sauce (anchovy or sand lance)
- A pinch of Sesame Seeds
- 4 Tbsp Gochugaru (Korean chili powder)
- 1 Tbsp Sugar
- 1 Tbsp Minced Garlic
- 1 Tbsp Saeujeot (fermented shrimp paste), finely chopped
- 1 Tbsp Fish Sauce (anchovy or sand lance)
- A pinch of Sesame Seeds
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, let’s prepare the flavorful seasoning. In a bowl, combine 4 tablespoons of gochugaru, 1 tablespoon of sugar, 1 tablespoon of minced garlic, 1 tablespoon of finely chopped saeujeot, 1 tablespoon of fish sauce, and a pinch of sesame seeds for aroma. Mix everything thoroughly. Using a tablespoon for measurement is convenient.
Step 2
Now it’s time to prepare the star ingredient: apples. Take about 1.5 medium-sized apples. Wash them thoroughly, peel them, and then cut them into bite-sized pieces, similar to how you’d cut kimchi. Make sure to remove the core and seeds. The key is to maintain the apple’s crisp texture.
Step 3
Place the prepared apples and the finely chopped green onions into a bowl. Pour the seasoning mixture you made earlier over them. Gently toss everything together, ensuring the seasoning coats the apple pieces evenly. Be careful not to mash the apples; mix them gently. And just like that, your delicious apple kimchi is ready!
