Seasoning Sauce- 2 Tbsp minced green onion
- 1.5 Tbsp Korean soup soy sauce (Guk-ganjang)
- 1 Tbsp sesame oil
- 0.5 Tbsp minced garlic
- 1 pinch salt
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Prepare all ingredients. Wash the soybean sprouts thoroughly and get them ready to be blanched.
Step 2
Rinse the soybean sprouts under running water. After washing, drain them well in a colander. Draining them thoroughly will help maintain their crispiness.
Step 3
In a pot, bring about 1 liter of water to a boil and add 0.5 Tbsp of coarse salt. Adding coarse salt to the boiling water helps to keep the sprouts crisp.
Step 4
Once the water is boiling vigorously, add the prepared soybean sprouts and blanch for approximately 40-50 seconds. Be careful not to overcook, as they can become mushy. Blanching just until the sprouts wilt slightly is sufficient.
Step 5
Immediately rinse the blanched sprouts under cold running water to cool them down. This step helps to retain their crisp texture and vibrant color. Squeeze out as much excess water as possible.
Step 6
In a mixing bowl, combine the drained soybean sprouts with the seasoning sauce ingredients: 2 Tbsp minced green onion, 1.5 Tbsp Korean soup soy sauce, 1 Tbsp sesame oil, 0.5 Tbsp minced garlic, and 1 pinch of salt. Adjust the saltiness to your preference, using the Korean soup soy sauce as a base.
Step 7
Gently mix and toss the sprouts with the seasoning using your hands until everything is well combined. Avoid over-mixing, as this can cause the sprouts to break apart. A gentle touch is key.
Step 8
Finally, sprinkle a generous amount of toasted sesame seeds on top and toss lightly. Your delicious seasoned soybean sprouts are ready to be served! Enjoy with a warm bowl of rice.
