Creamy Cream Cheese and Apple Balls
Making Delicious Apple Balls with Cream Cheese
Introducing a recipe for cream cheese apple balls, a delightful dessert featuring cream cheese, especially popular in the United States! This cream cheese is unaged, resulting in a mild and smooth flavor profile. Instead of saltiness, it has a subtle tang and a rich, nutty finish. Its high moisture content and over 45% fat make it versatile for various desserts. It pairs wonderfully with canapés, sandwiches, salad dressings, sweet desserts, cookies, and cheesecakes. In this recipe, let’s create a special dessert that perfectly balances the tartness of apples with the creaminess of cream cheese. The cooking process begins at 02:06.
Ingredients- 2 Apples
- 60g Cream Cheese
- 2 Tbsp Sugar
- 1/2 tsp Cinnamon Powder
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, take the cream cheese out of the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for a while to soften. This will make it easier to spread smoothly and evenly when filling the apples.
Step 2
Next, prepare 2 fresh apples. Wash them thoroughly and pat them completely dry.
Step 3
Cut off the top part of each apple, where the stem is attached, using a knife, about 1cm down. Cut it in a way that it can be lifted like a lid.
Step 4
Using a spoon or a small ice cream scoop, carefully hollow out the inside of the apples from where the top was cut. Remove the core and seeds, creating a hollow cavity to fill with cream cheese. It’s important to maintain a moderate thickness to prevent the apple from breaking when baked.
Step 5
In a small bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of sugar and 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon powder and mix well. The fragrant cinnamon will enhance the apple’s flavor when it blends with the sugar.
Step 6
Evenly sprinkle or spread the prepared sugar and cinnamon mixture inside the hollowed-out apples. The subtle sweetness of the apple combined with the aroma of cinnamon will create a delicious base.
Step 7
Place the apples in a preheated oven and bake at 180°C (350°F) for about 10 to 15 minutes. Adjust the baking time depending on the type and size of the apples. They are ready when slightly softened and emit a fragrant aroma.
Step 8
Remove the baked apples from the oven and let them cool down slightly. Be careful as they will be hot. Allowing them to cool to a warm temperature makes it easier to add the cream cheese.
Step 9
Generously fill the hollowed-out part of the slightly cooled apples with 60g of the prepared cream cheese. The soft cream cheese, combined with the warm apple, creates a fantastic dessert. You can also add some nuts or a drizzle of honey on top according to your preference.
