Super Simple Yet Special Beer & Wine Appetizer: Basil Cream Cheese Sandwich (5 Mins)
I grew basil at home this year, and it’s been a fantastic harvest! I decided to make a super-speedy beer snack with the first batch. It’s also a wonderful appetizer for wine. The basil fragrance is absolutely delightful!^^
Ingredients- 15 fresh basil leaves
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 30 crackers (your favorite kind)
- 3 Tbsp cream cheese
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, gently wash the fresh basil leaves under running water. After washing, carefully pat them dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture. Ensuring the leaves are dry will help enhance their vibrant aroma.
Step 2
Using a mortar and pestle, a food processor, or a knife, finely mince the basil leaves. Grind them by rotating to release their aroma. Once the basil is well-minced, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and mix again to create a fragrant basil pesto.
Step 3
Now, add the softened cream cheese to the prepared basil pesto. It’s helpful to let the cream cheese sit at room temperature for a little while to make it easier to mix.
Step 4
Using a spoon or spatula, thoroughly mix the cream cheese and basil pesto until well combined. Blend until the basil’s vibrant green color beautifully infuses the cream cheese, creating a smooth and aromatic basil cream cheese spread.
Step 5
Generously spread the finished basil cream cheese mixture onto the crackers. Using the back of the spoon to spread it smoothly will make them look even more appetizing.
Step 6
Place another cracker on top of the cracker with the basil cream cheese, creating a sandwich-like canapé. This helps keep the cream cheese filling neatly contained.
Step 7
