How to Make a Delicious Crab Stick and Egg Omelet Pancake
We’ve turned the popular crab sticks into a delightful pancake with eggs! This dish is perfect as a snack, especially for children, and also makes a great accompaniment to drinks. Its simplicity also makes it an excellent, fuss-free option for breakfast.
Crab Stick and Egg Pancake Ingredients- 2 imitation crab sticks
- 3 eggs
- 1-2 pinches of salt
- 2-3 Tbsp grapeseed oil
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare 2 imitation crab sticks and 3 fresh eggs. Once all your ingredients are ready, we can begin the cooking process.
Step 2
In a bowl, crack the 3 eggs. Add 1-2 pinches of salt. Whisk the eggs gently with chopsticks or a whisk until well combined, creating a smooth egg mixture. (If you are sensitive to any egg odor, a tiny splash, about 1/2 tsp, of cooking wine can be added here to enhance flavor and aroma.)
Step 3
Carefully unwrap the 2 imitation crab sticks. Then, use your hands to shred them into small, bite-sized pieces. Add the shredded crab sticks to the egg mixture. Stir well with chopsticks to ensure the crab meat is evenly distributed throughout the egg batter. This even mixing is key to a delicious pancake.
Step 4
Now, let’s prepare the pan. Add 2-3 tablespoons of grapeseed oil to a frying pan and preheat it over medium heat for about 1 minute. Once the pan is adequately warm, pour the entire crab stick and egg mixture into the pan, spreading it evenly. If there are any gaps in the pan, don’t worry! Gently swirl the pan with a wrist motion, or use a spoon to carefully fill in any empty spaces, ensuring a beautifully shaped pancake.
Step 5
Continue cooking over medium heat until the bottom side of the crab stick and egg pancake is golden brown. To check for doneness, gently lift the edge of the pancake with a spatula. Once you see a nice golden color, carefully flip it using the spatula. Alternatively, you can place a plate of the same size as the pan on top and invert the pan to flip it neatly.
Step 6
After flipping, cook the other side until it is also golden brown and cooked through. Once both sides are beautifully golden, your crab stick and egg omelet pancake is complete! It tastes best when served warm. Enjoy your delicious creation! ^^
