Main Ingredients- 200g Korean beef for soup (e.g., brisket or chuck)
- 250g Korean radish (Mu), about 1/4 of a medium radish
- 10g Green onion (Scallion), about 1/4 of a stalk
Seasoning- 1 tsp Sesame oil
- 1 tsp Minced garlic (or 1 garlic cube)
- 2 tsp Fish sauce (or Anchovy sauce)
- 1 tsp Soy sauce
- 1 tsp Sesame oil
- 1 tsp Minced garlic (or 1 garlic cube)
- 2 tsp Fish sauce (or Anchovy sauce)
- 1 tsp Soy sauce
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Begin by heating 1 teaspoon of sesame oil in a pot over low heat. Let it warm gently until fragrant.
Step 2
Add the 200g of Korean beef and 1 teaspoon of minced garlic (or 1 garlic cube) to the pot. Sauté the beef gently over low heat, allowing it to develop flavor without burning. This step is crucial for bringing out the rich taste of the beef.
Step 3
Once the beef is mostly browned and its color has changed, increase the heat to medium. Continue to sauté for another 2-3 minutes until the beef is almost fully cooked. Avoid overcooking to keep the meat tender and juicy.
Step 4
Pour enough water into the pot to generously cover the ingredients (about 2/3 full). Add the Korean radish, cut into 0.5cm cubes. The radish will impart a clean, refreshing flavor to the soup. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
Step 5
Once the soup comes to a rolling boil, stir in 2 teaspoons of fish sauce and 1 teaspoon of soy sauce. The fish sauce adds a savory depth, while the soy sauce contributes a subtle color and aroma.
Step 6
Finally, add the chopped green onions and simmer for another minute. Taste the soup and adjust seasoning with a pinch of salt if needed. Your delicious, clear Korean Beef and Radish Soup is now ready to be enjoyed!
