Main Ingredients- 2 squids, cleaned and prepared
- 1 handful of green onions
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- 2 bowls of cooked rice
- 2 eggs
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Let’s get started on making this nutritious and flavorful chewy squid fried rice! It’s a satisfying one-bowl meal that’s perfect for any occasion.
Step 2
First, prepare all your ingredients. Wash the green onions and mince them. Clean the squid thoroughly and cut it into bite-sized pieces (about 1 cm thick). Have your minced garlic ready.
Step 3
Heat a pan over medium-high heat and add a generous amount of cooking oil. Add the chopped green onions and minced garlic first, and sauté over medium-low heat until the fragrance of the aromatics infuses the oil. Once the oil is fragrant, add the cut squid and stir-fry over high heat quickly until the squid changes color and is almost cooked through.
Step 4
When the squid is nearly cooked, add all the seasoning ingredients: 1 pinch of black pepper, 1 tsp sugar, 2 Tbsp soy sauce, and 3 Tbsp oyster sauce. Mix well to coat everything evenly. If you find the seasoning lacking, feel free to add a little more salt or soy sauce to your taste. As soon as the squid is fully cooked and has changed color, add the cooked rice. Stir-fry everything together until the rice is well combined with the sauce and squid.
Step 5
Serve the delicious oyster sauce squid fried rice in a bowl. This flavorful and satisfying one-bowl meal is now complete! For an extra touch, you can top it with a fried egg or some shredded seaweed.
