I’m sharing a recipe for a delicious and healthy dish using common, easily accessible ingredients that everyone loves! ^^
Main Ingredients- 6-7 potatoes (medium-sized)
Seasoning Ingredients- 200ml soy sauce
- 2 Tbsp sugar
- 2-3 Tbsp corn syrup (or oligodang)
- A pinch of sesame seeds

Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Let’s start with delicious braised potatoes! First, peel the potatoes thoroughly and cut them into bite-sized cubes. Be careful not to cut them too small, as they might fall apart during cooking. Aim for a manageable size.
Step 2
Place all the cubed potatoes into a bowl. Now, prepare the corn syrup, which will give the potatoes their chewy texture. You can also use oligodang if you prefer.
Step 3
Slowly and evenly drizzle the corn syrup over the prepared potatoes. About three drizzles should be enough to start infusing a subtle sweetness into the potatoes. Let them sit for about 30 minutes.
Step 4
After about 30 minutes of resting, the potatoes will naturally release some liquid. Don’t discard this liquid; it adds depth of flavor, so be sure to cook the potatoes in it.
Step 5
Now, transfer the marinated potatoes and the released liquid into a pot to begin the braising. Using a heavy-bottomed pot, like a 7-ply stainless steel one, is recommended as it helps prevent burning and ensures even cooking.
Step 6
Pour in 200ml of soy sauce to season the potatoes. The amount of soy sauce can be adjusted based on the quantity of potatoes and your personal preference. Remember, sugar will be added later, so don’t make it too salty at this stage.

Begin by bringing the mixture to a boil over high heat. Once it starts boiling, it’s time to adjust the heat. High heat initially helps the flavors meld together nicely.
Step 8
Reduce the heat to medium and let it simmer gently. Stir occasionally to prevent the potatoes from breaking apart, and allow the liquid to reduce until it becomes syrupy and coats the potatoes beautifully. They’re ready when they have a lovely sheen!
