Create a delicious stir-fried side dish using mini king oyster mushrooms, which are affordable and have a wonderfully chewy texture, that everyone will love. It’s simple yet offers a deep flavor that whets the appetite.
Main Ingredients- 240g Mini King Oyster Mushrooms
- 30g Garlic Scapes
- 1/3 Red Bell Pepper
- 1 Cheongyang Pepper (or other spicy chili pepper)
- 5 cloves Garlic
Seasoning- 1 Tbsp Cooking Oil
- 1 Tbsp Oyster Sauce
- 1/2 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1/2 Tbsp Sesame Oil
- 1/2 Tbsp Toasted Sesame Seeds
- 1 Tbsp Cooking Oil
- 1 Tbsp Oyster Sauce
- 1/2 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1/2 Tbsp Sesame Oil
- 1/2 Tbsp Toasted Sesame Seeds
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Clean the mini king oyster mushrooms by rinsing them under running water and trim off the tough bottom ends. This step removes any dirt or debris.
Step 2
After washing and draining the mushrooms, cut them vertically into 2 or 3 pieces depending on their thickness. Cutting them not too thinly will ensure a pleasant chewy texture when cooked.
Step 3
Wash the garlic scapes, which add a lovely aroma, and cut them into 3-4 cm lengths. The crispness of the garlic scapes will make the dish even more delicious.

For a vibrant splash of color, cut the red bell pepper into pieces similar in size to the mini king oyster mushrooms.

For a touch of spiciness, slice the Cheongyang pepper in half, remove the seeds, and then cut it diagonally. If you prefer less heat, you can substitute with a milder chili pepper or omit it entirely.

Thinly slice the 5 cloves of garlic. Be careful not to slice them too thinly, as they can burn easily during the stir-frying process.

Heat a pan over medium-low heat and add 1 tablespoon of cooking oil. Sauté the sliced garlic until fragrant. You can also use minced garlic if preferred.

Once the garlic starts to turn golden brown, add the prepared mini king oyster mushrooms and garlic scapes. Stir-fry them briefly until they begin to soften.

Adjust the seasoning by adding 1/2 tablespoon of soy sauce if needed. Feel free to adjust the amount of soy sauce according to your taste preferences.

Just before turning off the heat, drizzle in 1/2 tablespoon of sesame oil to enhance the aroma.
