Main Ingredients- 1 Hot dog bun
- 1 slice of cheese
- 1 Hot dog sausage
- 1/5 Onion
Sauce- 1/2 Tbsp Ketchup
- 1/2 Tbsp Mustard
- 1/2 Tbsp Ketchup
- 1/2 Tbsp Mustard
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the frozen hot dog bun. Slightly open the bun wrapper or wrap it with plastic wrap, then microwave for about 20-30 seconds until warm. Be careful not to overheat it; the goal is to gently warm it.
Step 2
Next, prepare the onion. Take 1/5 of an onion, peel it, and thinly slice or finely chop it. If you prefer a milder onion flavor or don’t like the strong taste, soak the sliced onion in cold water for about 5 minutes to remove its pungency. Drain thoroughly before use.
Step 3
Cut the warm hot dog bun in half lengthwise. Place one slice of cheese inside the bun. The warmth from the bun will help the cheese melt slightly, enhancing the flavor.
Step 4
Now, arrange the prepared onion over the cheese. If you soaked the onion in water, make sure to squeeze out any excess moisture. The crisp texture and sweetness of the onion will add a delightful dimension to your hot dog.
Step 5
Next, prepare the hot dog sausage. You can use a store-bought sausage as is, or for an extra delicious touch, pan-fry it briefly before placing it on top of the onions. Position the sausage neatly over the onions.
Step 6
Finally, it’s time for the sauce! Drizzle 1/2 tablespoon of ketchup and 1/2 tablespoon of mustard over the sausage in a zig-zag pattern. Feel free to adjust the amount of sauce to your liking. Your delicious Chef’s Hot Dog is now complete! Isn’t that easy?
