Ingredients- Leftover fried chicken (cut into bite-sized pieces)
- 1 Onion
- Frozen vegetable mix (e.g., broccoli, carrots) or fresh vegetables
- 0.5 Tbsp Minced garlic
- 1 pack Carbonara sauce (store-bought)
- Pinch of black pepper
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, peel and thinly slice the onion. To reduce its sharpness and enhance its crispness, soak the sliced onion in cold water for about 5 minutes. Drain well before using.
Step 2
If using a frozen vegetable mix, chop them into smaller, bite-sized pieces. If you don’t have a frozen mix, feel free to use any fresh vegetables you have on hand, such as bell peppers, mushrooms, or zucchini.
Step 3
Heat a frying pan over medium heat and add a splash of cooking oil. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Then, add the sliced onion and the prepared vegetables. Stir-fry until the vegetables are slightly softened and translucent.
Step 4
Pour the store-bought carbonara sauce over the sautéed vegetables. This will give your dish a rich, creamy base. Adjust the amount of sauce to your preference.
Step 5
Once the sauce begins to simmer, season with a pinch of black pepper. This will add a subtle depth of flavor. Feel free to add more pepper if you like.
Step 6
Finally, add the leftover fried chicken pieces to the pan. Let it simmer gently in the sauce for 2-3 minutes, or until the chicken is heated through and has absorbed some of the creamy flavor. Serve immediately and enjoy this delightful transformation!
