How to Make Rich and Aromatic Homemade Milk Tea at Home
I recently fell in love with the milk tea I had at a cafe! The deep, rich flavor and the subtle aroma of black tea were absolutely wonderful. It was a truly sophisticated milk tea, showcasing how luxurious and profound it can be. However, a single cup of bubble tea can be quite pricey. ^^;; I really wanted to enjoy it often, so after some thought, I decided to try making it myself! This recipe will guide you through creating a delicious, cafe-style milk tea in your own kitchen.
Ingredients- Black tea (tea bags or loose leaf, your preferred type)
- Simple syrup (or sugar)
- Milk (you can choose regular, low-fat, or plant-based milk according to your preference)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, place your black tea bags or loose leaves in a cup or small teapot. Pour hot water over them and let the tea steep to create a concentrated brew. Allow it to steep for about 3-5 minutes to fully extract the tea’s aroma. (It’s best to use a moderate amount of water, considering you’ll be adding milk later. The more concentrated your tea base, the deeper the milk tea flavor will be.)
Step 2
As time passes, the tea will become even more concentrated. However, if you use too much water initially, the final milk tea might taste diluted. Therefore, I adjusted the water amount to create a rich tea base. (Tip: If using loose leaf tea, strain the leaves after steeping for a cleaner beverage.)
Step 3
Carefully pour your desired amount of milk into the concentrated tea base. You can adjust the milk quantity to your liking; for a creamier and richer taste, feel free to add more milk. Once all ingredients are combined, gently heat the mixture, and your delicious homemade milk tea is ready! (Tip: For added sweetness and richness, you can stir in condensed milk or honey to taste.)
