Savory and Delicious Braised Baby Potatoes Recipe
Let’s make delicious braised baby potatoes with these cute, round, mini potatoes! This year is a great year for potatoes, making them very affordable. While it’s good for consumers, it might not be the best news for farmers. Potatoes are so good for you, so let’s enjoy them even more heartily while they’re at a great price!
Main Ingredients- About 30 baby potatoes
- 5 cloves garlic
- 2 green chili peppers
Seasoning Ingredients- 1 tsp salt
- 3 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp plum extract (or corn syrup)
- 1/2 Tbsp oligosaccharide (or corn syrup)
- 1/3 Tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp salt

Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, soak the baby potatoes in water to remove any dirt or debris. Soaking them for about 1 hour will help clean them thoroughly.
Step 2
Gently scrub the skin of the soaked baby potatoes with a vegetable brush to clean them. If this step is inconvenient, simply rinsing them under running water is also fine.
Step 3
Place the cleaned baby potatoes in boiling water with 1 tsp of salt and boil for about 10 minutes.
Step 4
The potatoes are boiling nicely. Check them occasionally to ensure they don’t overcook.
Step 5
The potatoes are well-cooked without excess moisture. When you can pierce them about 80% of the way through with a fork, drain any remaining water from the pot.
Step 6
Now, we’ll braise the potatoes with soy sauce and plum extract. Place the boiled potatoes in the pot and add all the prepared seasoning ingredients to start the braising process.
Step 7
Tip: You can also remove the boiled potatoes, boil the soy sauce mixture separately, and then combine them. However, I found it easier to just add everything together and braise.
Step 8
Add the thinly sliced garlic and diagonally sliced green chilies for added fragrance and a pop of color.
Step 9
Once the soy sauce mixture has reduced to a glaze, stir in the oligosaccharide and mix well. Finally, drizzle with 1/3 Tbsp of sesame oil for a nutty aroma to complete this delicious braised baby potato dish!
