Herb Garlic Butter- 1 cup softened butter (at room temperature)
- 4 sprigs fresh rosemary
- 3 sprigs fresh thyme
- 1 Tbsp minced garlic
Herb Lemon Butter- 1 cup softened butter (at room temperature)
- 2 sprigs fresh thyme
- 1 Tbsp lemon zest (finely grated yellow part of lemon peel)
- 1 cup softened butter (at room temperature)
- 2 sprigs fresh thyme
- 1 Tbsp lemon zest (finely grated yellow part of lemon peel)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, let’s prepare the ingredients for the Herb Garlic Butter. Rinse the fresh rosemary sprigs, pat them dry, and finely chop the leaves. Carefully pick the leaves from the fresh thyme sprigs.
Step 2
Place the softened butter in a bowl. Using a spoon or spatula, gently cream the butter until it’s smooth and fluffy. Add the chopped rosemary, prepared thyme leaves, and minced garlic. Mix everything thoroughly by kneading or stirring until well combined. Ensuring even distribution of ingredients will create a uniform flavor.
Step 3
Now, let’s make the refreshing Herb Lemon Butter. Thoroughly wash the lemon, perhaps using baking soda, to clean the peel. Finely grate only the yellow part of the peel using a microplane or zester to create lemon zest. Carefully pick the leaves from the thyme sprigs.
Step 4
In a separate bowl, place the softened butter that’s been brought to room temperature and cream it gently. Add the prepared lemon zest and thyme leaves. Mix well until the butter and the aromatic ingredients are evenly incorporated. The bright, citrusy aroma of lemon will blend with the butter to create a wonderfully appealing flavor.
Step 5
Lay out parchment paper or wax paper. Place each type of prepared butter onto the paper. Shape the butter into a log, then carefully wrap it tightly with the paper. Twist the ends of the paper securely, like a candy wrapper. Once shaped, refrigerate the butter logs until firm. This makes them easy to slice and use later.
