- A small amount of Carrot (approx. 30g)
- 1/2 Onion (approx. 50g)
Seasoning- 1 Tbsp Anchovy Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Tuna Sauce
- 1.5 Tbsp Gochugaru (Korean chili flakes)
- 1/2 Tbsp Minced Garlic
- 1/2 Tbsp Citron Marmalade (substitute for sugar)
- 1 Tbsp Perilla Oil
- A pinch of Toasted Sesame Seeds
- 1 Tbsp Anchovy Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Tuna Sauce
- 1.5 Tbsp Gochugaru (Korean chili flakes)
- 1/2 Tbsp Minced Garlic
- 1/2 Tbsp Citron Marmalade (substitute for sugar)
- 1 Tbsp Perilla Oil
- A pinch of Toasted Sesame Seeds
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare your ingredients. Wash about one handful of Crown Daisy thoroughly under running water – just enough for one meal. Prepare half an onion, a small amount of carrot, and a little bit of green onion. (Tip: Wash Crown Daisy in small batches to prevent it from becoming too soft or wilted.)
Step 2
Thinly slice the onion. Julienne the carrot into fine strips, and finely chop the green onion. (Tip: Ensure the vegetables are sliced thinly so they can absorb the seasoning well and are easy to eat.)
Step 3
Once all your vegetables are prepped, it’s time to mix them with the seasonings. Place the Crown Daisy, sliced onion, julienned carrot, and chopped green onion into a large bowl.
Step 4
Add 1 tablespoon of anchovy sauce. This will provide a savory depth of flavor.
Step 5
Next, add 1 tablespoon of tuna sauce. Using both anchovy and tuna sauce together creates a richer, more complex taste.
Step 6
Add 1/2 tablespoon of minced garlic. Garlic is essential for enhancing the overall aroma and taste of the dish.
Step 7
Add 1.5 tablespoons of gochugaru (Korean chili flakes) for a pleasant spiciness and a beautiful vibrant color. Feel free to add more if you prefer a spicier kick.
Step 8
Instead of sugar, add 1/2 tablespoon of citron marmalade for a touch of sweetness and a wonderful citrus aroma. Citron marmalade helps to balance the slight bitterness of the Crown Daisy and adds a refreshing fragrance. Finally, drizzle in 1 tablespoon of perilla oil and gently toss everything together. Your fresh and delicious Crown Daisy salad is now ready! (Sesame oil can also be used.)
Step 9
This Crown Daisy salad is best when prepared fresh just before serving, rather than making a large batch. Enjoy the fragrant aroma of the Crown Daisy and the crisp texture of the vegetables!
